Bob Goria

Bob grew up in San Jose, California and graduated from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo with a degree in industrial relations. Bob left the west coast soon after for institutional food sales jobs in Oklahoma and Colorado. He then successfully owned and operated several Sonic fast-food restaurants in Texas for 15 years. For the next ten years he worked in real estate focusing on property management. Before officially retiring, he held positions in mergers and acquisitions and management consulting firms.

Bob has been a faithful member of Covenant Church for close to 25 years. He is a people-oriented person with a passion for helping others with a focus on serving the unhoused. He volunteers on the Kindworx team feeding and offering encouragement to those living on the streets in downtown Dallas. In addition to volunteering at Covenant through leading Freedom and various small groups, he has served on international mission trips. He recently served on the board for Trotter House, an Austin-based outreach with a mission to serve the local community with excellence in meeting the needs of families and helping them thrive.

When opportunities arise, Bob raises his hand and says yes. One of Bob’s favorite quotes by John Wesley, and one that he lives by is, "Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can."

Bob and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 23 years and have a blended family of five children and four grandchildren.
